Overheated and had to stop in a sketch part of Atlanta.
Update: Tow truck driver said this was the 3rd BMW for him today.

At least there’s Popeyes back there ;)
But yup, Toyota is awesome! They make the best cars. People hate on them for no reason.

In general Toyota makes good cars. People hate on they’ve made a few legitimate turds over the years like the RAV4 I owned. First of all, it just wasn’t that good - cramped inside, stupid heavy sideways-opening rear door, no power at all - like couldn’t hold 65 on any sort of incline at all, and despite that it never got more than 19 MPG. Genuinely scary handling at its limits. But to top it off, it was completely unreliable. Lots of minor issues, then VVTi failure at 61k and complete transmission failure at 70k. That and my overheating, needlessly complicated Lexus turned me off on Toyota products for life...Besides a Tacoma. I still want a Tacoma.

Overheated? Did the water hoses crap their pants?
The same exact thing happened to me, but I wouldn’t blame my car, or call it unreliable because of that incident. Hoses on an old car are bound to dry up and crack, be it a BMW, a Toyota, or a Ford. Rubber is rubber, and preventative maintenance is a thing.
Don’t get me started on BMW window regulators though ...

Exactly. A 30 year old car overheating is usually a (lack of) maintenance issue. Toyotas aren’t protected from ancient brittle hoses or rusted out radiators.

Luckily its not mine to deal with haha. I’ll have my buddy let me know what left us stranded with the local druggies in a part of town we were half an hour away from the tow truck driver not getting us in
